Detailed Itinerary
The journey from Arusha or Moshi to Materuni takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic. Once you arrive at Materuni, you'll embark on a guided hike to the waterfalls. The hike takes you through lush rainforest, passing by coffee farms and banana plantations. Along the way, your guide will provide information about the local flora and fauna as well as the cultural significance of the area.You can spend time admiring the falls, taking photographs, or simply enjoying the peaceful ambiance of the area. If you're up for it, you can also take a refreshing swim in the natural pools formed by the waterfall. The water is cool and invigorating, perfect for a dip on a warm day.After spending time at the waterfalls, you'll have the opportunity to visit a local coffee farm. Here, you can learn about the process of coffee cultivation, from the planting and harvesting of coffee beans to the roasting and grinding of the final product. You may also have the chance to sample freshly brewed coffee and learn about its cultural significance in the region.
